La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop

This local staple has been featured in a number of restaurant guides and recommendations and is one of the most recognizable restaurants on the North Shore. A taco shop with locations around the lower mainland and even Vancouver Island, this restaurant offers authentic tacos and burritos that’ll make your mouth water in anticipation. La Taqueria’s menu is a diverse one, offering many different styles of food and several vegetarian options. The Workshop Vegetarian Cafe

The best part of the Workshop Vegetarian Cafe, aside from its culinary excellence and great service, is that it’s unlike any other restaurant in the area. Its Japanese-inspired menu is entirely vegetarian and vegan friendly! From dishes like ramen to udon, each item has been carefully crafted with an eye towards flavour as well as healthy eating. That’s why all the ingredients are locally sourced and organic where possible. There are also options like pizza toast and buddha bowls for those craving something a little different. Tomahawk Barbeque
1550 Philip Ave, North Vancouver
The Tomahawk Barbeque is a must visit if you’re in North Vancouver. Established in 1926, it is one of North Vancouver’s earliest restaurants, built even before the Lions Gate Bridge! Back then, it was the hottest place in town and the central location to meet for anyone on the North Shore. It was also Vancouver’s first drive-in restaurant. Today, the Tomahawk Barbeque displays its history proudly in the form of Native art and artifacts posted throughout the restaurant. But don’t worry! The food is still just as good as it was almost 100 years ago. A careful attention to quality and detail means that signature dishes like the Yukon Style Bacon and Eggs or the Steak and Mushroom pie are to die for. For example, Tomahawk sources local ingredients when possible and only uses 100% premium certified organic ground beef.

A classic local eatery, the Lunch Bucket is a quick and delicious place to grab lunch while you’re shopping or waiting for a car repair. Locals recommend this place for its charm, its great food, and its friendly service. Located on the corner of Welch and Pemberton, the Lunch Bucket is right in the middle of the action, making it a great spot to stop whether you’re hiking the Spirit Trail or shopping at Consignment Canada. Try the breakfast wrap for a late breakfast, or tuck into a Turkey BLT.
